La Chaine des Rotisseurs celebrate ‘Grand Chaptire’

23July 2021: La Chaine des Rotisseurs, Great Barrier Reef Bailliage, hosted a weekend of gastronomy with a ‘Grand Chaptire’ over three days.

The not-for-profit, French originated, food and wine association, with 25,0000 members world wide celebrates the love of food, wine and the pleasures of the table.

“It is very special for us here in the Great Barrier Reef Bailiiage to celebrate a Grand Chaptire.  We will be dining at some wonderful venues across Cairns,” said Bailli and renowned Cairns food and wine identity Roger Phillips.

“Every year to coincide with Bastille Day, we have a gala black-tie dinner at Ochre restaurant.  This year we have extended that wonderful event over three days and included an intronisation to welcome new members to the club, a welcome cocktail and dinner and a tutored wine tasting.

“We are honoured that the Honorary-Consul Republic of France in Far North Queensland, Mrs Iris Indorato and her husband are attending the gala dinner,” said Mr Phillips.

Each year the Great Barrier Reef Bailiage spends $25,000-$30,000 on events with local Far North Queensland businesses.

“This patronage became critically important for our local hospitality businesses during COVID-19 lockdowns,” said Mr Phillips.

Bailli Delegue Australia, Norm Harrison and Bailli South Australia Serena Harrison-North were guests of houour, with Mr Harrison conduction the intronization and awards ceremony.
