Welcome to the Australian National Bailliage (Chapter) of the worldwide Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
The Chaine des Rôtisseurs Australia is part of a global community that appreciates food, wine, crafted beverages. At our heart we are a food & wine club that promotes friendship, fun & camaraderie.
The distinction of our organisation is we bring together both nonprofessional & professional members. Our professional members include hoteliers, restaurateurs, executive chefs & sommeliers. The mix of people & disciplines leads to lively, constructive conversations while enjoying ‘the art of the table’.
With Chapters on all five continents, when our members travel internationally, they are welcome to attend events & member restaurants to meet the “locals”, make new friends, experience local food, wine & the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs culture. Membership adds another positive dimension to your travels.
Originating in France in 1248, La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is now established in over 75 countries.
By brining professiona & non professional members together in a global setting, means we are different to other ‘food & wine clubs’.
Belonging to a truly international community brings a wealth of opportunities for members to participate in exciting events worldwide. We have global contacts & can offer exclusive events.
Our international website lists those events that members may attend. Similarly, our members are also warmly welcomed at our professional members’ establishments.
The Australian National Bailliage (Chapter) consists of nine established regional Bailliage’s each co-ordinating & staging unique & fun filled events around food, wine & other beverages. These include themed dinners, lunches, wine tastings, weekend getaways & Grand Chapitres.
In addition, the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD) is a specific section of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs’ which concentrates on wines, spirits, liqueurs & crafted beverages. Its goal is to promote the enjoyment, appreciation & knowledge of these beverages through themed dinners or tastings.
An essential part of the Chaine is the running of the international ‘Young Chefs’ & ‘Young Sommeliers’ competitions. Each Competition is held annually at national & international levels in Bailliages around the world, leading to the respective International Final. The goal of such competitions is to encourage & develop the skills of young chefs & sommeliers. Australia has an amazing track record, winning a medal in every one of the past 7 international competitions, beating talented entrants from the US, Great Britain and many more major countries.
